K1395B Lower Kuja Irrigation Development Project (15/2/2010)
The Lower Kuja Study Area forms part of the South Nyanza Lower Plain, in Nyanza Province, facing Lake Victoria’s Karungu Bay.  The Plain is made up of alluvial formations of the Rivers Kuja and Migori, downstream of Macalder Hills.  The gross geographical area is 5,779 Ha with the proposed Kimai Scheme covering 3,279 Ha and the Sagama Scheme 2,500 Ha.
